Yea
@MDL3wisAnimations Speaking of which, I just watched third episode of Flux. Don't know how you feel about Jodie, but that episode is worth the watch. I have never seen such an acid trip like episode since I watched the Classic Series.
I seen it I think josie is good but chibby is a bad writer
@MDL3wisAnimations Eh give him some credit. Without him, Torchwood wouldn't exist. I love that show. I have never seen a Doctor Who Spin-off that suddenly goes R rated. I was hoping they'd at least bring Peter Capaldi's Doctor back in a Big Finish episode, just so he could merge his Doctor with his famous f-bomb spewing character Malcolm. The only problem with the show is the same problem that many shows in the 90s have. When they try to be hip to the current generation, they spew off things said generation likes, they often do it in such a wrong and hollow way even the ones that like said things would be disgusted. Case in point, the Simpsons had an episode all dedicated to it when they introduced Poochie on the Itchy and Scratchy show. Poochie would have been a great character all his own, but the writers were more focused on making him look cool that when it came to writing material for him, they had no idea what to do with him. Which in turn caused their fanbase to hate him and wanting the show back to the way things are, even though they complained before about how dull the show became after watching it for a long time.
In the case of Doctor Who, while even in the older episodes of the revival series hinted that the Doctor will regenerate into a woman one day, part of why the era turned off so many people was because the producers and Chibby were under a lot of pressure to try to appeal to the demographic that had the loudest voice. Pretty much making a bastardized version of the things they wanted the Doctor to look like, say, do and so on.
The best way to better compare it is, when Joel Schumacher was hired by WB to replace Tim Burton for Batman. Now Joel is perfectly capable of dark and gritty movies. Lost Boys, Falling Down and Phone Booth being the prime examples. Where Tim focuses more on the oddball horror aspect, Schumacher would have been perfect for the more grounded aspects that Nolan got famous for. What did WB want instead? A modern day version of the Adam West show and when it went bad Schumacher was used as a scapegoat. Poor guy went as far as to make an apology video on the DVD version.
Chibnall has done his fair share of dark and gritty stuff both on Torchwood and on Doctor Who when he wasn't the showrunner and he wasn't able to do much until the era was almost over. And as I once predicted with the previous Doctors, many are starting to miss Jodie once her last season came up. Even those that blamed her for the show more than they blamed Chibby.
Once this era ends, Chibnall would be free to actually do something he wanted to do rather than cave into studio pressure. Jodie will most likely eventually come back on a multiple Doctors Episode. Not to mention the cycle would just continue like nothing happened.
Why the heck would he bite the Dalek?!
Yes don’t actually now
